The supported employment program provides support for people who have a desire to work. The ultimate goal of supported employment is to obtain people community placements suited to each person’s strengths and interests. Services in this component include career exploration, career enhancement, job development, job placement, on-the-job training and support, and job coaching.
Self Employment Services give each person the opportunity, through a process of discovery, to start his/her own business. Tobosa provides the necessary assistance to develope a simple business plan, conduct a market analysis, as well as all other bookkeeping duties necessary to maintain a small business. Tobosa also supports the entrepreneur with community networking to establish and maintain a successful business.
Individual Supported Employment is provided to people holding individual job placements in the community. people are supported to become independent in all aspects of their career, including work etiquette, transportation, building natural supports on the job, and developing relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
Supported employment services are intended to facilitate equal access to valued employment and meaningful work for people with developmental disabilities. Tobosa has supported many people in obtaining their first-ever jobs in the community. As a result, these people now enjoy relationships with non-disabled peers and are contributing members of their community.
